About Us Robert Garcia - President Robert Garcia invented and designed the SBG, INC "Break-Away" Fire Hydrant Collar for fire hydrants as a result of having worked for the City of Los Angeles' Department of Water & Power. His innovative thinking brought him to realize that cities were exceeding their budgets as a result of inefficient use of manpower and materials. Rather than competing in this market he developed a new system whereby water supply systems and fire hydrants in particular could be managed and repaired on a more cost effective basis. His innovative thinking alone has brought about this powerful new invention. His many years of experience afford Mr. Garcia an insight into the safety needs required for the public taxpayers. In addition, he has a heart felt wish to provide the necessary tools to protect not only the fire fighters who place their lives on the line, but he also has a wish to save lives and property nationwide. This can be accomplished by ensuring that each hydrant installed with his "Break-Away Collar" will never be out of service for more than a half hour while being repaired, due to an accident.
